Україна-2 is a standard typewriter that was produced at the Ufa Typewriter Factories in the USSR, somewhere during the second half of the 20th century. The typewriter has a typical functionality of an office machine- a broad carriage, decimal tabulator, color switch for a tint ribbon that supports it and a switch to enlarge spacing between the letters.
Design-wise Україна-2 looks like Optima M14 and M16 typewriters from DDR- same sharp-angled design and gray-ish tones, but quality-wise both paintjob and the quality of mechanics were severely lacking behind DDR counterparts- paint can be pretty easily scratched, leaving easily seen marks behind, plastic parts quickly yellow and the mechanic works are in general much less precise and wear out quicker.
This typewriter was found at the former Riga’s “Teika” furniture factory.
