Smith Premier No.10.

ASV, 1920

Smith Premier 10 typewriter is the last typewriter model to have a full-size keyboard with both key registers available right away. This model was produced for around 13 years from 1908 up until 1921, but after these 13 years of production Smith Premier factory switched to produce regular, standard typewriters with segment shift and two registers. It happened at least because a well-known typewriter company Remington has bought out Smith Premier Company and after 1921 started to produced their typewriters at all of the factories that belonged to them, just changing the brand name to the one that corresponded to the factory they owned.

This typewriter also had a functionality that was taken from its predecessors that allowed to take the paper roller out in case if the typewriter needed some maintenance. This model also had a functionality to switch ribbon colors if a bi-color ribbon was installed.

From to outer looks Smith Premier 10 were produced in glossy black color and were decorated with golden decals and lots of chrome-plated parts.
